Week 8
Lab - In lab this week we went through a series of presentations we created in groups. The main focus's were the life cycle of stars, the origin of the earth, galaxies, and black holes. We learned about the timeline of earths creating, starting with the big bang that took place 13.8 billion years ago, and earth's creation 4.65 billion years ago.
Lecture - In lecture we continued talking about the same subjects we discussed in lab. We learned a little bit more about the life cycle of a star and the process of the stellar nebula igniting which creates the star. From this point we learned that our sun is in the process of slowly turning into a red giant.
Press Book - In the press book this week we learned that the Big Bang was not an explosion at all. It was more like and expansion or inflation. We learned that the size of the start is dependent on the amount of material that is collected in the nebula before it ignites. We also discussed the different sides of the moon, and how we only see one side from earth. We also see images of the milky way, and views from space.
