Week 12
What did you learn this week?
This week in lab, we did a series of exercises, that helped us to learn more about matter and its properties. We selected a marble, aluminum foil ball, chalk, playdoh, candles, and paperclips to test in our experiment. We then tested these objects in the following categories, sink/float, mass, volume, electricity, and magnetism.
Here is our results!
Are you able to relate this information to what you already knew?
Yes! I can remember doing similar experiments in grade school. It was nice to get a refresher of these procedures and to look at it in the perspective of a future teacher. I think it's so interesting to try and come up with possible questions students may ask during these experiments.
How can you use this in your future teaching?
I will use this in my future teaching as a way to help my students see, understand, and find the different properties of matter. I think that this lesson is a great hands-on activity and is highly engaging.
Hi Hanna! I really enjoyed your blog post this week. I also think that this is a great thing to incorporate into our future classrooms!
